The Asanas Visual Codex by AsanArchy

Most yoga books teach how a pose should look or what muscle it activates.
This is not that.

The Asanarchy Codex is a growing visual archive where each asana is defined not by alignment — but by emotion, aesthetic energy, and the part of the body it reveals or speaks through.

We don’t ask “Is the form correct?”
We ask:

  • What feeling does this shape express?
  • What story lives in the tension of the spine or the tilt of the neck?
  • What happens when the same pose is shot for fear vs devotion?

Each pose is:

  • Labeled by emotional category (grief, lust, protection, surrender, etc.)
  • Grouped by genre themes (Wicca, horror, shibari, fantasy, cyberpunk, etc.)
  • Tagged by dominant body focus (hands, backbend, throat, pelvic angle, facial expression)
  • Shown through multiple photographic interpretations — from sacred to sensual, from alien to ancient

This Codex is not for yogis looking for perfection.
It’s for artists, performers, models, and visual storytellers who want to work with the emotional shape of the body.

Think of it as a ritual deck. A visual moodboard. A mythic anatomy chart.
One pose. Infinite meanings.
